Chrisette Michelle’s Epiphany

Category: Artists — cinnamon fridays @ 6:28 pm

Chrisette Michelle had released her 2nd studio album in May under Island Def Jam Music Group. She started recording for her second album by last year and just last January, she released her title track entitled “Epiphany” as its first single. For this album, Chrisette said her inspirations are Claude Kelly, Chuck Harmony, Ne-Yo and Bei Maejor. She said that this is a more youthful and more upbeat album compared to her first studio album.

Chrisette loves “Blame it on me”, one of the songs on this album and she also likes “On My Own” which she said reminded her of her dad. The album received positive criticisms and some critics say it’s a great album for those experiencing breakup. It expresses anger as well as some heartache on its serious songs.

The album is a success. On its first week it reached 83,000 record sales and it debuted #1 on Billboard 200 chart. This beats her first album as it didn’t reach #1 making this album her first album that reached #1 on its first week! But, after its successful first week, the record sales dwindled making it the lowest sum album that ever reached #1 on its first week with just over 170,000 units sold in less than 2 months.

The album has 12 tracks in total.
