Janet Jackson’s booby performance at the 2004 Super Bowl where Justin Timberlake pulled off “accidentally” the covering from her outfit and revealed Janet Jackson’s “private” asset had left both of them, especially Janet, in a hot seat. She was even banned from MTV and none of her music videos were played on MTV for some time. Justin Timberlake did not take any blame with what happened and Janet was left defending herself especially after it reached the courts for indecency case.
Now, after 4 years, the indecent exposure of that dreadful evening is now becoming an issue. The FCC or the Federal Communications Commission made an appeal for the Supreme Court to review Janet Jackson’s case of indecent exposure.
The law against indecent exposure where it must be done at least twice before it considered indecent does not apply for Janet Jackson’s case. With this new appeal, will Janet Jackson get the most beating again or have everyone forgiven her for an “honest” error that evening?
In our world where indecent exposures do seem so ordinary, this case doesn’t seem to add up. Why after 4 years will they appeal for this case again when it doesn’t affect anyone anymore? It is all in the past and CBS has already paid for its penalty and that should have been the end of the case but no, here it is again lurking its ugly head making a scene out of nothing so important.
Do you think this appeal is even necessary or do you think this is just one of those cases that waste the time of the U.S. Supreme Court?
