Janet Jackson started her Rock Witchu Tour in 2008 although she had cancelled 9 dates off her tour due to her illness that was later confirmed to be Vertigo. She was also supposed to have a concert in Montreal Canada but this too was cancelled because Janet Jackson checked into a City Hospital. In North America, she cancelled several shows too and she planned on taking the Rock Witchu Tour to Japan in February of 2009. She was very excited to have 4 dates concert between February 14 to 22, 2009 in Japan but because of the global financial crisis, she had to postpone.
Japan’s concert organizer Kyodo Yokohama had announced last January that she will be postponing her 5 concerts in Japan. She’s supposed to perform in Osaka and in Nagoya, Japan but because of the not-so-good sales she decided to postpone it and they will announce for the new dates by March.
This Rock Witchu World Tour would be her first world tour after 7 years. It was supposed to make a great impact to the world and bring her back the stardom and fame that she once possessed. It’s sad to be categorized as a has-been together with her brother Michael Jackson. At the age of 42, she can still Rock Witchu and she has to prove that. Unfortunately, the global financial crisis is turning out to be a hindrance for her.
With several cancellations already, this will definitely bruise her popularity a bit.
