Nicole is well known for being a wild child. She’s been into drugs and alcohol and she just went wild for years when she was in her teens forward. Her father, Lionel Richie had attempted to give herself the distance she needed so she could think for herself and sort out of her life.
It’s difficult for a parent to do that and he did not stop thinking about his daughter every minute of everyday, hoping that she would finally get it right and that her life would be back on track. If he won’t do this now, she might end up doing more damage to herself and the problems might end up being irreversible.
Lionel Richie said that he finds it difficult. When you are a kid you don’t want to reveal your secrets to your parents but when you are the parent, all you even think about is the protection of your kids and that’s what makes their setup hard. Nicole can’t keep a secret living under the watchful eyes of the world and Lionel Richie can no longer protect her.
Finally, when Nicole gave birth last year she finally got back to her senses and turned away from alcohol and drugs. Now she’s a happy mother and that makes Lionel Richie very happy. He said “I can sleep better at night now”.
Lionel Richie was a famous singer and Nicole Richie isn’t his biological daughter but he got her through adoption but he treats her just like any parent would treat their child.
