Lloyd announced that he would leave The Inc. Records. The R&B artist Lloyd is best known for his album which was first named as “Sexual Education” but eventually they agreed on calling his third album as “Lessons in Love” which makes it sound more appealing.
Lloyd’s first single from “Lessons In Love” features Ludacris and it was entitled “How We Do it (Around my way)” which had reached the Billboard’s Hot R&B and Hip-Hop Songs Chart at #77. The song is said to be featured on their version release that would be sold on Wal-Mart. The second single did much better as it peaked to #13 on the same hit charts and it is entitled “Girls Around the World” featuring Lil Wayne. The third single is “Year of the Lover” but did not do very well on the charts. They were planning on releasing a third single from the album but because the third single didn’t do well, they chose not to push through with the plan. If it did, the fourth single would have been “I Can Change Your Life”.
The album had mixed reactions from critics but all in all, it was considered average with a 60/100 and 3 out of 5 stars. The first week that the album was released, it sold 51,000 copies which landed it to # 7 on Billboard 200 album charts. The next week it sold half of that at 22,000 copies.
