Why is it that a lot of teens nowadays get into a heap of trouble? Is it because they want fame or is it simply because they’re kids and they do things rather quick and without much thought?
Take one of the hottest teen pop stars today, Miss Miley Cyrus who plays Miley Stewart in Disney’s Hannah Montana and who is adored by a lot of kids, some even under the age of 10. Last year, she made the news because of her controversial photos in Vanity Fair and in her blog. Now, it seems she’s done something new to offend the Asian community.
Photos of Miley and her friends show them copying Asians by pulling their eyes lightly to make it more slanted. This infuriated the Organization of Chinese Americans and they angrily insisted that Miley apologize for her actions. The teen pop star did say sorry, however, it did not seem like she was remorseful at all or maybe she just wanted to voice out her feelings on what happened.
She said that she wasn’t making fun of any ethnicity and that she was just having fun by making funny faces. She also said that she’s misunderstood and that she’s being picked on because apparently Britney’s back baby! and she’s on her way to being on top once again. According to Miss Hannah Montana, disappointing her fans, friends, family and God is the last thing she wants to do.
Let’s take it from Hannah’s single Nobody’s Perfect which goes something like, “Nobody’s perfect, I gotta work it, Again and again till I get it right.” Give the girl a little space because hey! Nobody is perfect and we all do make mistakes every now and then.
