RnB singer Mya is one of the contestants of this season’s American edition Dancing with the Stars. The artist has recently managed to get to the third finals on the popular show and has also been voted by US Weekly as one of the “Hot Steppers of the Year”.

Mya’s skills as a dancer surely do not come as a surprise. Many of her videos show she is one of the best dancers around in the RnB scene and she also has a respectful dancing background from a very young age, especially in tap dancing where she has trained with renowned tap dancer Savion Glover of the Dance Theater of Harlem.

When asked about her new experience of the show, Mya said she certainly did face new challenges even though she is a dancer, including extremely demanding rehearsal schedules and painful bruises she regularly has after all that high heels dancing for Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz. In fact, all that work out has made her giving up her vegetarian habits. She said she started craving carbs and proteins soon after starting rehearsals and had to start eating beef and chicken again to gain her energies back in order to look great every night on the show.

The artist has also promised that after her demanding experience in the dancing show she is going back in the studio and will be working on new 2010 album releases with her own privet label “Planet Nine”.
