The X Factor winner for 2008 is none other than Alexandra Burke. Burke auditioned for the 2nd season of X factor but unfortunately didn’t make the final cut because Louis Walsh thought she was just too young for the competition. But despite that, she even worked hard and after 3 years she became the winner of this famous TV show based in UK.

Burke’s first performance in the 2008 season already had the crowd with her song “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston and got several standing ovations from her weekly performances. Of course, with Simon Cowell as the judge, no one is safe from criticisms and Burke also got her dose of criticisms from this well-known critic called Simon.

Now that Alexandra Burke became the winner, she recorded her first single entitled “Hallelujah” and got 105,000 sold copies in just one day! On December 15 of 2008 she was declared as the current European record holder beating the 2006 winner Leona Lewis with her first single “A Moment Like This” that only got 82,000 copies which is already an impressive number considering it’s just sold in one day.

The Hallelujah song also became the number 1 Christmas single for 2008 as well and became the top selling song as well. And after 3 weeks of its release, the single got over a million copies sold both in digital and hard copies.

Alexandra Burke sang with her hero Beyonce and impressed her with her great voice. She may even get Alexandra Burke to perform with her on her British tour and is also considering recording a duet with her number 1 fan.
