Black Eyed Peas gave us great songs years ago such as “My Humps”, “Don’t Phunk with My Heart”, “Let’s Get it Started” and the song that started it all, “Where is the love?” But since Fergie started her own solo career, the group had suddenly gone from chart toppers to where are they now?

But now they’re back and their upcoming new album entitled the E.N.D. started off with a Bang! Yes, their lead single “Boom Boom Pow” topped the Billboard chart to number 1! They must thank the digital downloading business for this because for the first week of April, the song “Boom Boom Pow” had sold over 465,000 digital downloads which is the biggest digital week for any group although Flo-Rida still gets the trophy for having 636,000 digital downloads in a week.

Madonna is set to release another album with some of his greatest hits plus a few new songs. Hopefully the greatest hits album would come out by September as stated by her representative Liz Rosenberg.

It had been 7 years since she had released a greatest hits album and for sure lots of Madonna fans out there just can’t wait to hear her beautiful songs again packed in another new album with a few new songs that surely would be hits once again. But would it get the same acceptance as she did before? At that time Madonna was still out there, doing her thing and she looked really cool dancing like she’s 18. Now, she’s 50! Does that make you want to vomit seeing her with really sexy and skimpy clothes that teenagers of today are wearing? Well, there were negative reactions about her several recent dance numbers on stage where she did just that!

But let’s all face it. Madonna is ageing gracefully. Don’t you just wish you’d be 50 and still looking as hot as her? But Madonna needs to reinvent herself once more. After all, she’s quite good at reinventing herself. She needs to show more maturity now and less of those sexy outfits!

Madonna wanted to adopt another kid from Malawi but it only raised some more criticism. She spent a week in Malawi waiting for the court decision which should have allowed her to take the little girl but the judges refused to let Madonna become the mother of the young girl. The appeal date for Madonna’s adoption case was set for May 4.

The actress and singer Lindsay Lohan is definitely having a hard time right now. She’s already going through a lot with all the attention that can definitely drive a person crazy. She fell for a lesbian and has a 2 year relationship with her. Samantha Ronson and Lindsay had recently broken up and it’s not a very nice breakup either. It was very public! If that isn’t enough to drive a woman crazy, she also reported snubbed by Nicole Richie & Drea de Matteo! She’s also having threats for restraining order (as if this is still new to her) but now, Stevie Nicks adds more insult to injury.

Stevie Nicks is known as a Hollywood mean girl (the real mean girl in Hollywood) and this mean girl lashed out on Lindsay in one of her interviews. When she was asked about what she thinks when Lindsay will portray her life story on film and Stevie Nicks blatantly answered “Over my dead body.” Ouch for Lindsay for sure!

Letoya Luckett is one of the original members of the popular Destiny’s Child group and in 2006 she established herself as a solo singer and released her first album. Her album became a hit and reached #1 in Billboard 200 on its first week and everything was going smoothly for her. The album was a hit and she was quite expecting the next album would come in a year or less… but, it took 3 years and she just can’t wait any longer.

What happened? Why did she end up waiting 3 years for another album? Well, it’s just bad luck for her really and it’s not her fault at all. Capitol and Virgin recordes were to emerge just after she released her debut album but while they are restructuring, the executive VP of urban music had died of a heart attack which is why even if she wanted to have a new album, there’s just nothing she could do but wait. And wait she did.

In the Republic of Suriname news about a concert from Toni Braxton prompted her fans to buy tickets to see their idols in real life and be delighted by her music. Everybody came with so much excitement then there came Ms. Toni Braxton and she started singing some of her popular songs then they noticed something, the person in front of them did not look exactly like Toni Braxton.

What happened was, the organiser for the concert intended to fool the audience of the show. Angel Venture made a secret agreement with the impostor named Trina Johnson to play as the popular Ms. Toni Braxton. Trina Johnson even talked to the media and portrayed herself as Braxton’s manager and much to their surprise, at the concert itself it was the same woman who showed up as Braxton. Police are now investigating the situation and they already arrested the impostor together with her husband.

President Barack Obama and wife are true Stevie Wonder fans. They loved his songs and Barack Obama even jokingly said that if it wasn’t for his being a Stevie Wonder fan, he may not be lucky enough to have married Michelle.

For the inspiration Stevie Wonder was given through his songs, the President and his wife honoured him by giving him the Gershwin Prize Award at the White House. The award was given to Stevie Wonder during the concert that the President himself and his wife had organized for him and they entitled the concert “Stevie Wonder in Performance at the White House: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize”. Not a very creative title, you might say but it’s really the thought that counts.

Stevie Wonder serenaded the audience with songs such as Sir Duke and Isn’t She Lovely among many other songs he sang. It wasn’t just Stevie Wonder who entertained the couple and the audience but the concert also included Mr. Tony Bennett, Will.i.am, Paul Simon and Martina McBride.

India Arie had been in the business for many years and she has come to accept that not everybody would love her. In fact, there are many cynics who just don’t seem to like her.

India Arie had reaffirmed to all black women and women in general that it’s OK to not look so perfect, to not shave your legs or constantly be on the quest to look like those on the tabloids and because of this, she had a groundbreaking rise of female fans because of her beauty revolution.

Mary J Blige is known for combining the hip hop music together with soul and this is the reason why she received an award for World Music Legends Award. She had several albums released since 1992 but Mary J Blige once said in an interview that she only realized what she was doing by 1997 because before that she was just singing and leaving her ghetto life. It was only in ’97 that she realizes she was actually making history.

From drug addiction and alcohol addiction, Mary J Blige turned her back on her addiction at the time that her friend died, a year before Aaliyah died. After Aaliyah’s death she snapped and all of a sudden she decided to stop and be a good wife to her husband and as a good person with no alcohol.

Her latest album is entitled Growing pains which was released in 2007. The album had some issues though especially when she faced a federal law suit with regards to the song “Work That” which is said to be written by Neff-U and she was not given the right to use the song. It was also this year that Mary J Blige was listed as one of the 100 Most Beautiful People by People Magazine.

Mary J Blige makes popular hip hop songs with great messages. She does not just make music for the rhythm but each song actually has a message that you could listen to and learn something from. Mary J Blige is really a legend in her own time, she is the only Mary J Blige.

Eve is releasing her latest album. It’s her fourth album so far and it was previously titled Here I am but now the album is entitled Flirt. It’s a more catchy name for an album and it just sounds more of an Eve’s album rather than Leona Lewis’ if it was entitled Here I am.

The album had actually been pushed back a few times and it should have been released in August of 2007, almost 2 years ago. After Eve claimed that it would be released on August of 2007, later on they said it would be pushed back to September the 11th then to October 16th and so on.

Now, Eve’s newest album will be released this year but no words yet as to when exactly will the album be out in the market but they assure that it would finally be released this year after she had transferred to a different record label.

J Dilla or Jay Dee was not just a rapper, he was also a DJ and even a record producer. He lived a full life and made a major contribution to the hip hop music. In fact, critics say that J Dilla turned the American hip hop music to what it is today.

He started his career back in 1992 through Amp Fiddler. In 1995 he formed first down which is a hip hop group but didn’t last long but this didn’t stop him from pursuing his hip hop career. He became known for being the hip hop guy not just as the singer but also as the producer for artists such as Janet Jackson and Busta Rhymes among many others.
