Beyonce Knowles was spotted at Heathrow Airport earlier today on her way to meet her husband Jay Z in Cork, Ireland. Jay Z is in Ireland for a concert and husband and wife will be returning to England tomorrow for Jay Z’s controversial appearance at Glastonbury Festival.

Controversy was sparked by the statements made by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, who made it abundantly clear that Glastonbury is a rock festival and that Jay Z’s music is not what is typically played there. Of course maybe someone should have told Mr. Gallagher, who is so concerned with the “roots” of the festival, that they were lost long ago, when it became a corporate trendy event, where you have to book tickets in advance.

It is a pop festival, that occasionally looks back on its roots, and as such the most popular music in the world should naturally be heard there. From the organizers’ point of view Jay Z is just as capable of drawing the crowd Oasis would have in the late 90s. I would be more concerned on the line up of the third day which looks like names were drawn out of a hat.
