Soulja Boy’s second album is about to hit us, under the name iSouljaBoy, although the initial title was to be Back to School, and it is just as promising as his debut. The 17-year-old is looking to do less producing on this record, in contrast to his first album, which he produced entirely by himself. This time round he is looking to work with producers like Pollow Da Don and collaborate with artists such as Sean Kingston and Bow Wow.

The young MC has been at the epicentre of some Internet drama, after veteran Ice-T made some very disparaging comments about the young man on a video blog, and he didn’t hold back at all. Videos went back and forth and Soulja Boy proved to be the more mature of the two, perhaps due to the fact that he cannot have possibly reached the position he is in today without having listened to some of Ice-T’s landmark tracks while growing up.

It’s a shame that an artist of Ice-T’s calibre should speak about a budding MC in such a way, especially one who must have, in the past, looked up to him. After Soulja Boy’s response, Ice-T did try to clear the air a bit with an apology about his coarse language, however he made it clear that he is not a fan of the young man’s music.

It was a strange decision on Ice-T’s part, to make the initial statement to begin with, one that will surely cost him fans who appreciate Soulja Boy’s music.
